About

Self-promotion is a key skill to have when trying to progress in any industry, but it can feel incredibly uncomfortable. Mediabrands & The Yard set out to change this with their event Brag Better: The Art Of Self Promotion, a panel discussion and networking event featuring experts in the field of self promotion.

Whilst the design was led by the Mediabrands style, the event was a collaboration and needed to set itself apart from the usual design language employed by Mediabrands. It needed to be as loud, proud and eye-catching as the subject of the evening, but also accessible and inclusive to attract a diverse range of attendees.

The usual Mediabrands design language was turned up to 11, with a warped logo and bold typography combined with a highlighter visual language that echoed themes of the limelight and grabbing attention. Subtle textures, off-whites and deep greys ensured the colour contrast was easy on the eye, keeping the design accessible.

The branding certainly did the job to promote the event – with 150 attendees turning up on the night, who brought a whole lot of love for the bold design.

The branding is brilliant Chris! Thank you so so so much ❤️ I still have no idea how you created such amazing, inclusive designs from the very vague brief we discussed!
